intro

A place to meet and relax

On one side of the area, you will be attracted by an enigmatic formation of granite rocks surrounded by trees , on the other side there is a wooden shelter on a stone base . In the distance, you can see a small house, known among the locals as Lipki . All this together creates a characteristic place of Przesieka - a transition between built-up areas and free mountain nature.

The Lipki Lodge has a long tradition as a meeting place for residents, tourists and mountain people. Originally, there was a bar called "Pod Lipkami", where locals and visitors would gather in the shade of the mighty linden trees to relax and share their stories. The place still serves as a meeting place, albeit in a different form, and it still bears the name Lipki.

Every year in February , the Iceman's Run takes place here - an unconventional winter race in which daredevils run ten kilometers along mountain roads and forest trails in just shorts.

Walloon stone – a silent witness to the past

Nearby is a remarkable natural monument – the Walloon Stone (German: Mannstein). It consists of several granite rocks over 2 meters high, located on the northern slopes of Płonik Hill.
On one of the rocks , two ventilation boilers have been preserved, which, as a result of erosion and the fall of the block, have merged into a shape resembling a human figure. An engraved Latin cross and a barely visible sign resembling a palm can still be recognized on the stone.

According to tradition, the Walloons – medieval seekers of precious metals and stones who came to the Krkonoše Mountains and the entire Lower Silesia region from the 12th century – left their marks here. These prospectors created their own secret symbols and directions to the sites, the meaning of which was known only to their circle. The Walloon stone was also mentioned in the 15th century in the so-called Walloon Books as an important landmark.

Linden trees at the entrance

The Lipki site itself is completed by two protected small-leaved lime trees , which line the concrete staircase in front of the house. With a trunk circumference of around 400 cm and a height of approximately 30 meters, they are among the most massive trees in the entire village.
