The third largest waterfall in the Polish Krkonoše Mountains

The waterfall is formed by a ten-meter triple cascade of the Podgórna River, which is one of the most beautiful mountain streams in this area. It is the third largest waterfall on the Polish side of the Krkonoše Mountains. Its right tributary is the Myja Stream, which originates on the northwestern slopes of Smogorna.

The Podgórnej Waterfall is also unique in that it is the only waterfall on the Polish side of the Krkonoše Mountains where swimming is allowed .

A place for hardy people and photographers

All year round, devotees of hardening – the so-called Mroźni (Wors) – come here. They voluntarily immerse themselves in the icy water from October to April to strengthen their health and spirit. The tradition of winter swimming attracts hardy people to Podgórzyno not only from Poland but also from abroad.

The waterfall is also a popular destination for photographers and nature lovers - it changes with each season and offers a completely different atmosphere in summer, autumn and during the freezing winter.
