The project was created in cooperation across borders
The project connects Špindlerův Mlýn and Podgórzyn in Poland via a thematic hiking trail, which will expand the existing network of trails and the range of tourist destinations. The aim is to relieve overloaded localities, distribute visitor numbers to more places and strengthen the sustainable development of the region. The new trails will contribute to calming the situation in exposed areas, support environmental protection, the quality of life of residents and economic growth in the border region. The trail, conceived as a miller's journey to natural and historical attractions, will make the entire area more attractive, extend the tourist season and enable deeper cooperation between the two municipalities. The project includes the reconstruction of roads, the historic White Bridge in Špindlerův Mlýn, the addition of furniture, the creation of tourist signage, information boards, maps, promotional materials and a virtual version of the trail. In Podgórzyn, a tourist information and natural history site will also be renovated. The project is financed by the Interreg Czech Republic–Poland 2021–2027 programme.
